The London based BEACON Label was formed in 1968, by producer Milton Samuels,and was distributed by E.M.I. As well as home grown soul artists like Root & Jenny Jackson, Jon & Jeannie and the very soulful Paula Parfitt, the Beacon label also released tracks from Philadelphia soul acts like The Chi-Lites, Bobby Wells and The Showstoppers, who went straight into the U.K. charts with the hit "Ain't Nothing But A Houseparty". Beacon 45's came in various designes - green, orange, white, yellow and the red/white swirl. Beacon released 80 or so tracks,-here are 20 of the best......lets copp a groove and have a houseparty............this is The BEACON Story.
