Columbia Records started out life in the U.K. in 1959 with their debut single "Private Eye (Baby) / Hully Gully"
by The Olympics, and by the 60s were releasing
tracks from the States by variuos artists including
Gene Chandler, Dee Dee Sharp and Chubby
Checker.In 1963 they signed one of the U.K.s
youngest ever stars, Helen Shapiro. Over the
years Columbia has been one of the labels to
delve back into, to seearch out some of those
forgotten soul & pop classics. Through-out the
60s Columbia has issued some of the finest songs
ever to grace the world of music, here side by side
are just some of those great soul & pop masterpieces.....
