Back in 1975 Radio Station WCBS - FM 101.1 in New York,
started a program on Sunday nights totally dedicated to
the close harmony sounds, of the late 50s early 60s.
THE DOO-WOP SHOP and DJ Don K. Reed gave many
hours of pleasure to millions of listeners for over
27 years. However in 2002 the higher management
at WCBS- FM took the unpopular descion to end
the show, this was not taken lightly by the public
of New York, as to them the show was a godsent,
and a change from some of the drabble that was
being churned out by other radio stations.Hear now
