MY GENERATION

The Group was formed in 1961 when leader Manfred Mann arrived in England from South Africa. He joined up with Mike Hugg to form Mann Hugg Blues Brothers. The were soon joined by Paul Jones Mike Vickers and Tom McGuinness, they changed their name to Manfred Mann and was signed to HMV. The groups debut single failed to make the charts however it was'nt long before the hits came, helped by the fact 5-4-3-2-1 became the theme tune to "Ready Steady Go" making #5 in the UK Charts. After topping the charts twice lead singer Paul Jones left the group to seek solo success, and was replaced by A Band Of Angels lead singer Mike D'Abo, the band continuded their chart domination throught-out the 60s, and carried on well into the 70s under the guise of Manfred Manns Earth Band.
