THE STORY
The TROJAN label was the brainchild of Chris Blackwell, who owned Island Records, and was launched in July '67. Reggae and Jamaican Ska was firstly the main output of the label, scoring hits for Jimmy Cliff, Desmond Dekker & the Aces, along with Bob & Marcia. However Trojan also issued some classic Northern Soul: Jackie Edwards, Roy Docker, Jimmy James & the Vagabonds, all had releases on this truly fine British Label. Here are 23 carefully
